Wellfleet Historical Society

The Wellfleet Historical Society was organized in 1951 to foster an interest in the town and its history. Membership is open to all residents and visitors to Wellfleet.
They also operate the Wellfleet Historical Society Museum, open June to September annually. The society's collection includes old photographs, maps, documents, marine artifacts, Indian artifacts, a small collection of period clothing, household, agricultural and commerce related items. Special theme exhibits are planned for summer months.

Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America predecessor of RCA transmitted January 19, 1903 the first U.S. transatlantic wireless telegram addressed to Edward VII King of England by Theodore Roosevelt President of the United States of America
