Torre del Gombito In età comunale si eressero in Città alte torri nobiliari, dapprima come segno di potenza e distinzione, poi di egemonia militare nelle lunghe lotte tra fazioni cittadine. Simbolo della città turrita medievale, questa torre, unica superstite di quelle private, fu eretta all'inizio del sec. XII. Alta 53 metri, si impone per la compattezza della muratura in arenaria e la perfetta tecnica muraria. Nel 1877 è stata donata al Comune dagli ultimi proprietari.
English translation: Gombito Tower In the communal period they were erected in high noble towers City, first as a sign of power and distinction, then military hegemony in the long battles between city factions. Symbol of the city Medieval turreted, this tower, the only survivor of the private ones, was built at the beginning of the 12th century. It is 53 meters high, with an imposing compactness of sandstone masonry and the perfect masonry technique. In 1877 it was donated to the City by the last owners.
