Michel Saltzermann dit Fred Juif de Bessarabie Premier commandant de la F.T.P. M.O.I. des bataillons Carmagnole et Liberté a été tué par les troupes allemandes le 19 août 1944 au 2ème jour de la libération de Paris. Il defendait le Pont d'Austerlitz à la tête d'un groupe de partisans. Lui et ses 30 compagnons sont morts pour la France.
