Wicklow Town Heritage Trail. Cannons overlooking Wicklow Harbour. Gunnaí móra crochta os cionn an chalafoirt. These huge guns, which date from the latter part of the 19th century, were originally mounted on gun carriages at the Murrough and were regularly used by the artillery regiments that were based here or came for artillery practice. However they were never fired in anger and stood along the coast as protection against a possible French invasion.
