Both McKee and Clancy were later cruelly tortured and murdered along with IRA Volunteer Conor Clune in the Guard Room of Dublin Castle as a reprisal after IRA units smashed the elite spy network of British Intelligence during the War of Independence on Sunday November 21st 1920.
