Alexander Simpson (June 12, 1872 – July 20, 1953) was an American journalist, attorney, and Democratic politician. He served in both houses of the New Jersey Legislature and as Assistant Attorney General of New Jersey.

Alexander Simpson, 1832-1922 Civil Engineer. Engineer and later Chairman of the Glasgow District Subway under whose direction it was planned and constructed in 1891-1896. Originally cable hauled, the Subway was electrified in 1935 and re-named the Underground. It was modernised in 1977-1980
