CERN is a European research organisation based on the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. It is famous for operating large particle accelerators (including the Large Hadron Collider) as well as its involvement in computer science.To our knowledge, they have only erected one historical plaque, which is located on the main campus, and commemorates the founding of the World Wide Web.
