Old Norton Quarry

Old Norton Quarry. Old Norton Quarry opened in the late 19th Century, employing many men in the area and providing raw materials for kerb stones and 'causie' setts, until it closed in the 1950s. The quarry was then used as a landfill site but has since been improved with grass and tree planting and the new path now provides a safe and pleasant route through the woodland.
