Malachi Whitaker. Celebrated author - known as the 'Bradford Chekhov' - was born in this house on 23 September 1895. Christened Olive Marjorie Taylor, she left school aged 13, but went on to publish five volumes os short stories and a memoir with Jonathan Cape. Many of her stories were read on BBC Radio. 1895-1976
