Railway Viaduct Built 1839-1840 Architect: John Lowe Engineer: George Watson Buck Widened 1887-1889 to four tracks 1786 ft long, 111 ft high, 27 arches. The Structure, built with 11 million bricks, provided the inspiration for many of L. S. Lowry's paintings.
