En este lugar se encontraba "Villa Ave María" residencia habitual, desde 1957 hasta 1965 de Dº Ángel Herrera Oria, Obispo de Málaga, que aprobó y firmó la constitución de la Hermandad del Stmo. Sacramento y Ntra. Sra. de los Dolores de Puerto de la Torre el 13 de mayo de 1949.
