Carey Hand Funeral Home 36 West Pine Street Carey Hand came to Orlando in 1907 and bought his father's embalming business in 1914. He opened this funeral home in 1920, designed by architect F.H. Trimble in the Tuscan style with a chapel, the first of its kind in Florida. The crematorium, built in 1925, was the first in the entire South. The Carey Hand Funeral Home operated here until 1987.
