Joseph B. Tinker Baseball Real Estate The Tinker Building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for Joe Tinker's contribution to sports and commerce. Joe Tinker played shortstop for the Chicago Cubs for 15 years. As a leading National League fielder and member of the famous "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play trio, Tinker helped the Cubs win the World Series in 1906, 07, 08, and 1910. He also played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Federals, retiring from professional baseball in 1921 to manage the Orlando Tigers. Tinker Field is named in his honor. Joe Tinker was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947. The Tinker Building was built in 1925 for Joe Tinker's real estate office, and was restored in 1979.
