Magazijn De Zon In 1904 kochten twee ondernemers uit Den Bosch op deze plek een dubbel pand. Onder de naam Magazijn De Zon vestigden zij er een zaak in manufacturen en interieurbenodigdheden als filiaal van Vroom & Dreesmann. In 1909 werd het pand samen met een buurpand vervangen door het huidige warenhuis van de Rotterdamse architect P.G. Buskens. De stijl is die van de Jugendstil met kenmerkende materialen als glas-in-lood, staal, natuursteen en siermetselwerk. Bij de restauratie in 1989 werd veel van de oorspronkelijke luister hersteld. Het is het enig bewaard gebleven voorbeeld in Gouda van een vroeg warenhuis.

English translation: De Zon warehouse In 1904, two entrepreneurs from Den Bosch bought a double building at this location. Under the name Warehouse De Zon, they established a business in manufactures and interior supplies there as a branch of Vroom & Dreesmann. In 1909, together with a neighboring building, the building was replaced by the current department store owned by Rotterdam architect P.G. Buskens. The style is that of the Jugendstil with characteristic materials such as stained glass, steel, natural stone and decorative brickwork.
