Richmond Station Restoration The first station on this site opened in 1846 (as the terminus of the Richmond and West End Railway). The station was rebuilt in an art deco style by the Southern Railway and their lead architect James Robb Scott. It opened in 1937 but over time its decoration and detailing deteriorated. In 2024 South Western Railway restored the façade and bronze entrance canopy, and revealed the original perimeter signage in the booking hall, supported by grants from the Railway Heritage Trust, Network Rail & the London Borough of Richmond.
