Hôtels des Missions étrangères Selon une habitude largement répandue dans les éstablissements religieux sous l'Ancien Régime, le séminaire des Missions étrangères réalisa une opération immoblière pour augmenter ses ressources financières. Ces deux hôtels mitoyens et identiques, destinés à être loués à une clientéle aristocratique, furent édifiés de 1713 à 1715 par l'architecte Claude-Nicolas Lapas-Dubuisson, et décorés par les sculpteurs Dupin et Toro. Confisqués à la Révolution, ils furent vendus au début du XIXe siècle. Chateaubriand, locataire d'un appartement au rez-de-chaussée, passa les dernières années de sa vie au no. 120. Il y acheva la rédaction des Mémoires d'Outre-Tombe. Chaque jour, il se rendait à l'Abbaye aux Bois, toute proche, où l'attendaient Juliette Récamier et ses familiers.

English translation: Hôtels des Missions étrangères. According to a widespread habit in religious establishments under the old regime, the Seminary of Foreign Missions Immoblière realized an operation to increase its financial resources. These two adjoining identical hotels, to be leased to an aristocratic clientele, were built between 1713 and 1715 by the architect Claude-Nicolas Lapas-Dubuisson, and decorated by sculptors Dupin and Toro. Confiscated during the Revolution, they were sold in the early nineteenth century. Chateaubriand, tenant of an apartment on the ground floor, spent the last years of his life at no. 120. He finished writing the Memoires d'Outre-Tombe. Every day he went to the Abbaye aux Bois, nearby, where he met Juliette Recamier and friends.
