The improved Terrace Road was officially declared open by the chairman of the Highways and Works Sub Committee on 29th April 1996 and this mosaic sponsored by Tarmac Construction Ltd represents a design by the artist Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898) who lived for some time in "Muriel", the house which formerly occupied this corner site
