1848 Rose Cottage This cottage was built for Thomas Henry Duthie by Malay builder Ajardine for the use of Charles McMaster and his wife Ann, who arrived in Table Bay from Plymouth on 27 January 1846. The original roof of thatch was built by Watton, another employee of Duthie. The cottage was completed on 12 August 1848. Local schoolmaster Cupido lived here and added an extra room on the west side. Other additions were made over the years. The cottage was later acquired by the Anglican Church and Canon Le Sueur stayed here during the period 1949 to 1970. Recent owners include Charlie & Alexa (Lexie) Elliott and Frosty & Susan Langman. The present owners Alison and Rob Hyde made further sympathetic heritage additions.
