Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy born at Hamburg 1809 died 1847, composed "The Rivulet" in 1829 while visiting Mr Henry Taylor who rented Coed-Du. Charles Kingsley born at Holne Vicarage, Devon, 1819, died 23rd Jany 1875, frequently walked along "The Leet".
