Former offices of the world famous Chilwell Mark Gregory's Roses established here 1897 by Charles Gregory 1867-1940 and continued by his son Charles Walter Gregory 1908-1980
16 February 2013. CHARLES GREGORY (1867-1940) and his son CHARLES WALTER GREGORY (1908-1980) of the former internationally known rose growers C Gregory & Son Ltd, marked with a plaque at the former company offices on High Road, Chilwell. The company was one of the top rose growers in the Britain and their rose fields at Stapleford were the largest in the country. Plaque unveiled before a large crowd by Tony Gregory and Rosemary McCarthy, son and daughter of Charles Walter Gregory. Tony Gregory gave an account of his father and grandfather and the Mayor of Broxtowe, Cllr Margaret Handley also contributed.
