The site of Tyburn Tree
This most unusual London County Council memorial - a circular marker of Portland stone with inset bronze lettering at ground level, occupying part of a traffic island - was installed at the exact site of the Tyburn Tree in 1964. It replaced another ground level marker, a triangular plaque (with an accompanying descriptive bronze plaque at Marble Arch) installed by the London County Council in 1909, which had been dispatched by road improvements.
