J. B. Priestley 1894-1984 novelist, playwright and essayist lived here
The plaque was unveiled in Prestley's centenary year by his son Tom. It was coloured brown so as not to distract from an existing memorial, to Samuel Taylor Coleridge, erected by St Pancras Borough Council circa 1950. To date only one other brown English Heritage plaque, commemorating Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West in Belgravia, has been erected.
