W. A. Keith House. Oldest house in Cookville. Erected in 1880 by W. A. "Doc" Keith (1850-1930), farmer, county attorney (1895), postmaster. Built of rough-milled, hand-planed pine with hand-hewn oak sills. Originally had three rooms and hall. Has been remodeled slightly. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark -- 1970 #11179
