Lilian Baylis 1874-1937 manager of the Old Vic and Sadlers Wells Theatres lived and died here

The London County Council erected a joint plaque commemorating Emma Cons and Lilian Baylis at Surrey Lodge, Morton Place, Lambeth in 1952 but this building was demolished in 1971. Baylis was commemorated by the GLC with this new plaque in 1974. A plaque to Emma Cons had to wait until 1978.
