Ici est né Evellier Emile (1920-1944), lieutenant FFI fusillé par les Allemandes le 31 août 1944 à Grigny. Le 20 août 1944 au cours de l'attaque à main armée d'un convoi militaire sur la route de Brignais, plusieurs prisonniers Allemands furent capturés. L'un deux s'étant échappé signala la position du groupe. Douze otages furent pris parmi la population et étant sur le point d'être fusillés, le lieutenant Evellier se dénonça comme responsable militaire de Grigny et leur sauva la vie.
