Dewsbury Station, a Grade II listed building, was opened on 31st July 1848 for the London & North Western Railway Company. The main building was designed by John and Henry Paul Child and built by Simpson and Field at a cost of £5,597. Passenger services from this station commenced on the 18th September 1848.
