This plaque is dedicated to the memory of Volunteer Peadar Macken 3rd Battalion Dublin Brigade Oglaigh na hEireann and all those who have died for the cause of irish freedom. Peadar Macken died tragically in Bolands Bakery during the 1916 Rising where he fought and from where Macken Street today gets it's name "" The flame for freedom shall never be extinguished "" 2016
