LA CIUDAD LIBERAL CARMEN DE MAX MOREAU/CARMEN DE LOS GERANIOS Edad Contemporánea: Siglo XX Estilos: Regionalismo Fue residencia del artista belga Max León Moreau, quien vivió aquí más de treinta años, dejando a su muerte (1992) todos sus bienes al Ayuntamiento de la ciudad, quien rehabilitó el Carmen en 1998 como Casa Museo. Conforme a su tipología de Carmen, cuenta con vivienda, huerto y jardín, disponiéndose en tres recoletas paratas para adaptarse al desnivel de la colina. Consta de tres edificaciones independientes comunicadas por medio de patios: casa del pintor, estudio y vivienda del casero. La vivienda es actualmente la sala de exposición permanente de parte de su obra, mientras que lo que fue su estudio -zona que sufrió mayor intervención- es ahora la que recrea la vida del pintor. It was the residence of the Belgian artist Max León Moreau, who lived here for more than thirty years, leaving all his assets to the city council after his death (1992), which restored El Carmen in 1998 as a House Museum. According to its type of Carmen, it has a house, an orchard and a garden, arranged in three small blocks to adapt to the unevenness of the hill. It consists of three independent buildings connected by patios: the painter's house, studio and landlord's house. The house is currently the permanent exhibition room for part of his work, while what was his studio -the area that underwent the most intervention- is now the one that recreates the painter's life.
