Old Boone County Clerk’s Office 1853. This Greek Revival structure was built in 1853 and is Boone County's oldest surviving government building. Built at the southeast corner of Washington and Jefferson Streets, the Clerk's Building was sold to the Boone County Deposit Bank in 1889. The building was moved to the west side of Jefferson Street in 1924 where it served as Burlington's Post Office. It was moved to this site in 2001 and rehabilitated by Boone County. Marker placed 2008.
