Blue plaque № 60197

Near this site in Quay Street stood the factory where COTTON motor- cycles were made from 1923 to 1972. 'Win on Sunday: Sell on Monday' was the company's ethos. The pre-war bikes were made using founder Bill Cotton's patented triangulated frame. Post-war, high performance lightweight off-road bikes were developed by Monty Denley and Pat Onions.
