Christina Georgina Rossetti 1830-1894 English poet who wrote romantic, devotional and children's poems including Goblin Market and Remember, and the words for the carol In The Bleak Midwinter. For many years she worked as a volunteer at the former refuge for prostitutes or 'fallen women' on North Road. She is buried in Highgate Cemetery.
