Died aged c. 0

The book 'Narrow Boat' was published in 1944. It was about Tom Rolt's 1939 journey around the canals in his boat Cressy. The book included a letter from literary agent and aspiring author Robert Aickman suggesting that a society to campaign for the regeneration of canals should be formed. To canal enthusiasts this is the beginning of modern-day canal use.
