Element trail - EARTH Site. This obelisk is the most ambitious element in the local sculpture trail. It was constructed to mark the Millennium by the first female apprentice stonemason in the history of Horton Quarry. The motto inscribed near the top refers to the whole of the parish of Ratley, Edge Hill and Upton and captures the long history of the area. Other elements of the trail can be seen in Ratley, at the Lower Recreation Ground (Fire), the village hall and motte and bailey of Ratley Castle (Air) and The Goggs freshwater spring close to the church. All four come together in the font cover of St. Peter ad Vincula.
