Eglantyne Mary Jebb 1876-1928 founder of Save The Children Fund taught in this building when it was St Peter's School

Note that this is not Eglantyne Mary Jebb (1889-1978) the Third Principal of Froebel College (1932–1955) or another younger Eglantyne Mary Jebb, a teacher. This plaque was removed following the discovery by local researcher Sue Round that it had been mistakenly celebrating Eglantyne Jebb's cousin for 23 years. A new plaque, omitting the erroneous 'Mary' from Eglantyne Jebb's name was ceremonially unveiled on Friday 7th June 2019.
