Chelsea China was manufactured in a house at the north end of Lawrence Street 1745-1784. Tobias Smollett 1721-1771 novelist also lived in part of the house from 1750 to 1762
by administered by English Heritage as part of the London wide plaque scheme and London County Council in 1950 Part of the L.C.C. Rectangular series
