John Richard Green 1837-1883 Historian lived in a house on this site 1869-76
An encaustic LCC brown plaque was originally erected at 4 Beaumont Street in 1909. It was re-erected following redevelopment of the site in 1924 but was damaged in the process and was eventually replaced in with a ceramic LCC blue plaque in 1964. The building at this address has been demolished twice since, and the plaque is now affixed to a structure completed in 1988.
