Started in 2013, ex-Radio One DJ Mike Read is strongly involved in this heritage group.In February 2017 they gained a publicity coup by getting the BBC involved with choosing 40 new plaques for BBC Music Day on Friday 9 June 2017. Nominations are being taken via Twitter under the hashtag #LocalMusicLegendsTheir web site was suspended on-or-around the launch date of the promotion, which is unfortunate.
