Wikidata WikipediaThomas Nash (baptised 20 June 1593 – died 4 April 1647) was the first husband of William Shakespeare's granddaughter Elizabeth Barnard. He lived most of his life in Stratford-upon-Avon, and was the dominant male figure amongst Shakespeare's senior family line after the death of Dr. John Hall, Shakespeare's son-in-law, in 1635.

Nash's House & New Place Nash's House was owned by Thomas Nash, who was married to Shakespeare's granddaughter, Elizabeth. The house later passed to her on Thomas's death. The house adjoins the site of New Place bought by Shakespeare in 1597, where he lived with his family and later died in 1616. It was during this time that Shakespeare wrote some of his greatest works.
