Parksville Revitalization Project The City of Parksville's upgrade of the Alberni Highway was partially funded through contributions from the Canada-British Columbia Infrastructure Program. The project resulted in a new downtown road and pedestrian standard, designed to improve pedestrian travel and safety in the City centre, and to enhance the area for both the residents of the City and the many visitors who come to enjoy Parksville and its surrounding area's natural beauty. This site was officially opened on July 17, 2005 by His Worship Mayor Randy Longmuir and Council.
