Dingle and Marie Antoinette. In the early period of the French Revolution, James Louis Rice, an Irish officer in the Habsburg Imperial Service, organised an escape for Queen Marie Antoinette from Paris to this house, his family home in Dingle.  The queen, however, refused to leave Louis XVI and their children.
