This headland was acquired by the States of Jersey on behalf of the public in commemoration of those men and women of Jersey who perished in the second world war. 1939-1945

This plaque is dedicated by the R.A.F.A . (Jersey) and C.I.O.S. to the memory of Sqn. Ldr. Robert Sinckler Woodward D.F.C. R.A.F. and W/O Donald Burton McPhail R.C.A.F. of No. 263 (Fellowship of the bellows) Sqn. R.A.F. Who were lost in action off this headland, flying whirlwind aircraft on 7th. December 1942
