Fort Antes. Built 1778 by Col. Henry Antes. Stood on the opposite side of the river at the mouth of Nippenose Creek. Nearby was Antes Mill, first in the region. The stockade was abandoned during the Great Runaway; burned by Indians.

Pine Creek Presbyterian Church. Just south along Pine Creek was the site of the first Presbyterian Church in this area, organized in 1792. It was the ancestor of the Jersey Shore Presbyterian Church, organized in 1851.
