William Carey DD preached his great missionary sermon in this building - Then Baptist chapel - on May 30th 1792.
This original plaque to Carey in Nottingham was attached to the Baptist chapel demolished to create Maid Marian Way. The plaque was saved at the time and attached to adjacent Grosvenor House in turn demolished shortly after to widen Maid Marian Way and the plaque relocated again.
