En los años 30 del siglo XX, muchos castreños no tenían la posibilidad de tener en sus casas aparatos de radio con los que informarse de la actualidad, tan importante sobre todo en tiempos de guerra. El castreño Amador Martínez colocó la balda que pueden observar sobre sus cabezas para ubicar allí su radio y poder compartir tan preciado bien con los vecinos.
