Es, junto con el edificio González, uno de los mejores ejemplos de la arquitectura modernista española. Este edificio de 1901 fue uno de los pioneros de la introducción del "art nouveau" en España y fue realizado por el arquitecto vizcaíno Severino Achúcarro. Su espectacular remate provoca un efecto de movimiento. También son muy originales las ménsulas en las que descansan los balcones y miradores. En cuanto a la decoración, destacan las formas curvilíneas con representaciones femeninas y motivos vegetales, al igual que los remates en color blanco y crema, y la bella cerámica vidriada.
