Master Mariners Homes. Built 1837-40 by North Shields Master Mariners Asylum for 32 aged mariners and their dependents; John and Benjamin Green, architects. Land donated by 3rd Duke of Northumberland; his statue stands in the gardens.

Hexham station. On 9th March 1835, Hexham Station was opened by the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway, which became part of the North Eastern Railway in 1862. The original station was probably designed by the architect Benjamin Green of Newcastle upon Tyne. It was altered and extended between 1835 and 1871 and again by 1901. Listed Grade II and standing in a Conservation Area, the present station was restored in 1998/1999.

First Tynemouth Station. This building was the booking hall and waiting room for the first railway station in Tynemouth. It was opened on 29th March 1847 by the Newcastle & Berwick Railway Company and designed by the architects John and Benjamin Green, but was superseded in 1882 by the current railway station now part of the Tyneside Metro System.
