Karl Marx 1818-1883 lived here 1851-56

Marx had been commemorated with a plaque at 41 Maitland Park Road, Camden, by London County Council in 1935. This, and a replacement, were vandalised soon afterwards, the owner of the house declining a third. The entire area was demolished after suffering significant bomb damage during WWII, and is now occupied by the Maitland Park housing estate, constructed in the 1950s. A brown Camden Borough Council plaque marks the site.
