Jonah Jones cerflunydd, artist, sculptor 1919-2004
This plaque was designed by the eminent Welsh letter-cutter and calligrapher Ieuan Rees and cut by Peter Jones (son of Jonah Jones who worked in his workshop as a letter-cutter for over six years). The plaque was erected in November 2006. Jonah had a strong connection with Portmeirion, as he did much lettering work and sculpting there which can still be seen around the village.
