John Richard Archer 1863-1932 Mayor of Battersea who fought social and racial injustice lived here

Archer's plaque is smaller than usual, at 406mm (16 inches) diameter compared to the standard 495mm (19½ inches) so as to be able to fit onto the building's facade. A similarly diminished plaque commemorates {Margaret Rutherford](/plaques/673/) in Wimbledon.
