Dante Gabriel Rossetti 1828-1882 poet and painter and Algernon Charles Swinburne 1837-1909 poet lived here

The LCC experimented a little with the blue roundel design in the late 40s and early 50s. This example features an unusual placement of the council's name, at the bottom of the plaque.
